Hawijch Elders received the 2nd Prize and special awards at the ‘II Odesa International Violin Competition’, Odessa, Ukraine, 7-13 May 2021, 150th anniversary Peter Stolyarsky.
Hawijch Elders is Laureate of the ‘III Oleh Krysa International Violin Competition’, Lviv, Ukraine, October 17-27, 2019, and received a Special Award. In the Finals, she performed the Tchaikovsky violin concerto with the Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra led by Yuriy Bervetsky.
The Kersjes Vioolbeurs 2019 has been awarded to Hawijch Elders. This scholarship of the prestigious Kersjes Fonds is awarded annually to an outstanding young talented Dutch violinist (or violinist living in the Netherlands), enabling to study abroad.
Quote from the jury report: “Hawijch is a natural violin talent; her smooth play and intense musicality make her a young, highly promising violinist of the highest category.”
Hawijch Elders received the second prize at the 37th ‘Premio Rodolfo Lipizer’ International Violin Competition, where she performed the Britten Violin Concerto and the first movement of the Sibelius Violin Concerto in the Finals on Saturday 15th of September 2018. Besides, she was also awarded for three special prizes: the prize for best performance of a Sivori etude, the prize for most talented young violinist and the prize for best performance of a 20th century sonata.
